PennyResearch accepts all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express), PayPal, Apple Pay, and Google Pay — all processed securely by Stripe.

Yes. Both upgrades and downgrades take effect immediately. Upgrading to a higher plan will charge the prorated difference. Downgrading to a lower plan or switching between monthly and annual billing happens right away — the unused portion of your current payment is not refunded, and your next billing cycle will use the new rate.

Absolutely. You can start with our Starter plan at just $9/month for 2,500 credits — roughly 64 research reports. No long-term contracts, no hidden fees. If PennyResearch isn't the right fit, unused credits within 3 days of purchase are eligible for a refund review.

When you run out of credits, you can purchase additional credit packs or upgrade to a higher tier. Unused credits roll over to the next month on all paid plans, so you never lose what you've paid for.

Yes. All data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest. PennyResearch never trains AI models on your research data. Your passwords are hashed with bcrypt, and you can delete your account — along with all your data — at any time.

One credit equals roughly one search query across all 20+ sources. A typical research report with follow-up questions uses 30-50 credits. The Starter plan (2,500 credits) gives you approximately 64 reports, Pro (7,000 credits) roughly 180 reports, and Business (30,000 credits) about 769 reports. You can track your usage in real time from your dashboard.
